Archaeological Research Division
This division promotes the following activities:
Supporting excavation and research of the Hiraizumi ruins group
Supporting material surveys and excavations of ancient Chinese gardens
Conducting and cooperating in physicochemical analysis of excavated artifacts related to Hiraizumi
Conducting and cooperating in soil analysis of samples taken from low-lying wetlands related to Hiraizumi
Philological Research Division
This division promotes the following activities:
Collecting, deciphering, and transcribing garden-related materials found in Japanese historical documents such as the Sakuteiki
Research on the collection and interpretation of garden and landscape-related materials found in Chinese literature
Folkloric studies on Japanese gardens
Education and Regional Contribution Division
This division promotes the following activities:
Disseminating research on Hiraizumi to the local community through lectures, symposia, and research meetings
Making research findings more accessible and incorporating them into educational settings as part of “Hiraizumi Studies”
Supporting and cooperating with projects for the additional registration of World Heritage sites such as the Yanaginogosho Ruins and the Choja-no-hara Temple Ruins
